Explore the rusty and frenetic Saigon and her surrounds, including Mekong Delta and Cu Chi Tunnels. Relax on some beautiful beaches in Nha Trang and Hoi An, visit the former capital of Vietnam in Hue. Fly to charming Hanoi, the gracious capital with its beautiful green parks and the buildings in French style. We also spend a night on boat in romantic Halong Bay, a world’s heritage site.
Day 1 Saigon Arrival On your arrival at Tan Son Nhat airport, welcome by our guide and transfer to your selected hotel. The remainder of the day is free to relax and explore. Overnight in Saigon. Meals: Welcome dinner
Day 2 Saigon Ho Chi Minh City (former Saigon) is Vietnam’s commercial heart and largest city. This morning we will take a walking tour of Saigon, visiting the many famous and historic landmarks of the city. Visit the Presidential Palace, War Crimes Museum, Notre Dame Cathedral, Post Office, bustling Cho Lon district (China town), Ben Thanh Markets and Thien Hau pagoda. Overnight in Saigon. Meals: Breakfast
Day 3 Saigon - Mekong Delta We explore the Mekong Delta by various boat trips amongst the smaller tributaries to visit local floating markets, villages, home industries and plantations. We will return to Saigon in the mid-afternoon, with the remainder of the day free for shopping or exploration. Overnight in hotel. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Day 4 Saigon - Tay Ninh - Cu Chi Tunnels Today we explore the famous Vietcong Cu Chi tunnels, and then continue to Tay Ninh to experience the midday service at the head temple of the unique Cao Dai religion. Overnight in Saigon. Meals: Breakfast
Day 5 Saigon to Nha Trang Fly to Nha Trang. This afternoon we will have a sightseeing tour around this seaside town and visit the Cham tower ruins. Overnight in Nha Trang. Meals: Breakfast
Day 6 Nha Trang A day of leisure and indulgence as we take a cruise around the islands of Nha Trang, visiting the Tri Nguyen Aquarium, Tam Island and a local fishing village. Enjoy swimming, snorkeling, and fresh local seafood lunch. Overnight in Nha Trang Meals: Breakfast
Day 7 Nha Trang to Hoi An Fly to Da Nang and transfer to Hoi An stopping at the Cham Museum en route. We continue south to numerous caves and Buddhist shrines of the Marble Mountains and stop at famous China Beach. We enjoy a brief walking of Hoi An. This World Heritage site combines Chinese, Japanese, European and Vietnamese influences. Overnight in Hoi An. Meals: Breakfast
Day 8 Hoi An Today we take a walking tour of the old centre of Hoi An. We visit an old merchant home, the Japanese Covered Bridge, Hoi An market and a local Chinese pagoda. Get some clothes tailor-made, relax at riverside restaurants or take a short journey to the nearby beach. In the late afternoon there is an option of fantastic cruise on the Thu Bon River then enjoy a fun cooking class at a local restaurant. Overnight in Hoi An. Meals: Breakfast
Day 9 Hoi An to Hue Today we take a spectacular road trip over Hai Van pass to Hue, Vietnam’s former capital; the city divided by the beautiful Huong River, is also famous as the centre for Buddhism, and was the last imperial capital of Vietnam. We will visit the Citadel, former home to the Emperors, Thien Mu pagoda, Hue’s oldest and most beautiful pagoda and go back by dragon boat on the Perfume River. Overnight in Hue. Day 10 Hue to Hanoi Visit the impressive tomb of Emperors Tu Duc and Khai Dinh of the Nguyen Dynasty, and then fly to Hanoi. This evening enjoy a performance of the Water Puppets. Overnight in Hanoi. Meals: Breakfast
Day 11 Hanoi We start our exploration of Hanoi by visiting the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, his house on stilts, French colonial presidential palace, 11th century One Pillar Pagoda, Temple of Literature, Hanoi’s first university dating to 1070 and a cyclo tour of the fascinating Old Quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake. The remainder of the day is free for relax or exploration. Overnight in Hanoi. Meals: Breakfast
Day 12 Hanoi – Ha Long Bay This morning we head out for a 3 hour drive through the verdant Red River Delta to Ha Long Bay where we board on our boat for a cruise around the majestic Ha Long Bay, which gives us chance to take in the stunning scenery of this World Heritage Site. After lunch, take a short trek to a nearby summit for a panoramic view of the bay dotted with Ha Long junk’s sails, go swimming on a quite beach or sunbathing on the sundeck. At sunset time, kayak or simply take a bamboo sampan to discover a water tunnel with many coral reefs in a scenic lagoon. Back on board boat, enjoy cocktails while watching sunset and later unwind at the restaurant. After dinner, free for relax or enjoy chatting at the bar. Overnight on board. Day 13 Ha Long Bay – Hanoi Rise to the sound of the ocean coming to life for another lovely day. Before breakfast, you may have an opportunity to view the sunrise over the bay. After breakfast, we cruise to the Bai Tho Mountain in the other beautiful Bai Tu Long Bay and we cruise back to the Ha Long dock. Boat arrives at harbor by 11:00 for the drive back to Hanoi. Drop you at your hotel. Our guide recommends you the most recommended restaurant in town for your dining out tonight. Meals: Breakfast, Farewell dinner
Day 14 Hanoi Departure Free for last minutes shopping before transfer to the airport. Meals: Breakfast
